Starting with just 4 teams in 2015, the SAHL quickly grew, expanding to 6 teams the following year and eventually reaching 8 teams, accommodating up to 128 players annually. Our growth reflects the league’s popularity and the strong community bonds it fosters.
The SAHL was founded in 2015 by a group of friends led by Sylvain Lemoine, our current president. Their vision was to create an inclusive space for hockey players of all skill levels, promoting friendship and community through sport. This dream was realized with the support of the Ste. Agathe CDI and local businesses that share our community-oriented values.
The SAHL is dedicated to continuous improvement. In our early years, we launched a Winter Classic featuring outdoor games and a town-wide festival. We also proudly participate in the Cheyenne Festival parade and are always on the lookout for opportunities to support community initiatives.
